The CowParade New York 2000 Charity Auction raised $ 1,351,000 benefiting several New York City charities. It was a great success! The highest winning bid was $ 60,000, for Tiffany Cow. The average bid was $ 18,257.
The auction was held Thursday, September 28, 2000 at Cipriani 42nd Street and preceded by a cocktail hour at Vanderbilt Hall.
The charities benefiting from the proceeds included: The City Parks Foundation; God's Love We Deliver; Hale House; City Meals-on-Wheels; New Yorkers for Children and The Center for Arts Education. The CowParade auction provided an opportunity to support the important work performed by these charities while enjoying a unique art form.
